Jermaine Dye – A tremendous season, by all accounts a great guy who has worked hard to come back from a horrific injury in 2001.7. Justin Morneau – A terrific player who was vital to the Twins offense and a key cog in a great 2nd half run. Help carry a lesser offensive team – check, put up big numbers – check, play a key defensive position well – check. Roy Oswalt – A fine season, Oswalt is an exciting pitcher who can dominate at times.2. Brandon Webb – Carpenter and Webb had almost identical seasons, Webb gets the nod here on the basis of 14 extra innings pitched and a more difficult pitching environment (a great hitter’s park in AZ as opposed to a good pitcher’s park in St. Louis).AL Rookie of the Year3. Kenji Johjima – A great year while playing regularly as a catcher from day one. Justin Verlander – A terrific start to the season, he stumbled down the stretch but he gave the Tigers what they needed. Ron Gardenhire – The Twins started slow, but Gardenhire brought Liriano slowly, worked in Jason Bartlett and overcame a dreadful start to lead his team into the playoffs.NL Manager of the Year3. Jerry Narron – Narron guided a pretty bad team to a solid season without the help of the great rookie class that Girardi had at his disposal.2. Charlie Manuel – Given a putrid pitching staff, the distractions of Brett Myers and the Bobby Abreu trade, Manuel led his team back into the race to the final weekend of the season.1. Willie Randolph – The Mets have a terrific team, but Randolph was the steadying hand despite the loss of their top starting pitcher, their Opening Day 2nd baseman and the collection of hassles that come with life in New York.

That amounts to roughly 21 per cent for Ignatieff and Dion so far, 19 per cent for Kennedy and 15 per cent for Rae. Hockey legend Ken Dryden, for instance, has been endorsed by 40 ex-officios (about 10 per cent), lone Atlantic candidate Scott Brison by 35.So if these numbers hold up across the board, Iggy’s total support comes in at significantly less than 30 per cent, not the 35 per cent that has been commonly predicted.

One of the reasons people accept playoffs as a post-season solution is because the sports and leagues which hold them are able to fairly rank and include the most deserving teams. So how are these other sports able to fairly rank and include the most deserving teams in their playoff? in reference to rankings or a playoff etc., I’m simply referring to a situation in which most reasonable people would agree that the most deserving teams are ranked properly or included in the playoff. It stands that the more games that are played, the better the chance is of being able to fairly rank teams because there’s more information available. A ranking of MLB teams has a better chance to be more accurate, more fair, and less controversial than a ranking of Women’s Soccer teams simply because there’s a lot more information available to analyze when comparing the teams. If there’s not enough information to make their rankings reasonably fair, then how do they ensure that that they draw the cutoff line for their playoff fairly and include most (if not all) of the deserving teams? So even if their initial ranking of teams isn’t that fair, letting so many teams into the postseason makes their playoff reasonably fair. Thus a high number of playoff teams acts as a failsafe to catch teams that an unfair ranking might let slip through. But because their 22 teams play 30 games each, there is little chance that their rankings will be unfair, thus there’s less need for more playoff teams. All of the sports or leagues listed either play a lot of games, have few teams, or include a large number of their teams in the playoff. This limits both the number of games that can be played during the regular season and the number of teams that can realistically be included in a playoff. Two rounds is the difference between having a 16 team playoff and a 64 team playoff. True, but take a look at their number of games, number of teams, and percentage of playoff teams. They have far fewer teams, (college football has nearly 4 times as many teams in even the smallest division), and they play four or five more games than college football teams do, giving them anywhere from 33%-60% more information to use. All of those things contribute to the fairness in their playoff system.)

So basically, when compared to other professional and NCAA team sports, college football has too many teams playing too few games to come up with a reasonably fair ranking, and it cannot create a large enough playoff to act as a failsafe for the unfairness of those rankings.

It was a glorious time at Windsor Park, and Braithwaite played in five Irish Cup Finals in a six year spell.Among three Irish Cup successes was the 1962 final, Braithwaite scoring in a 4-0 win over Portadown that placed Linfield well on the way to a seven trophy haul. Braithwaite played fifty of Linfield’s 59 games, and scored twelve goals, as the Gibson Cup (Irish League), Irish Cup, Ulster Cup, Gold Cup, City Cup, Co. The following season Braithwaite added two further caps, in European Nations Cup ties with Poland and Spain, but new manager Bertie Peacock was still experimenting with the outside-left role, and Billy Bingham, Jimmy Hill and Jimmy McLaughlin were all tried there. In 1963 Braithwaite left Windsor Park - with his third Irish Cup medal following a 2-1 Final victory over Distillery - and his job in the shipyard, for full-time football with Middlesbrough.

The return of nominations to the president is at the end of
this post. Press END to get to that boring end, or (better) read the terse
summary of unfolding events as the Senate raced to recess.

H.R.5970Minimum Wage and Estate Tax Act of 2006

A late night event and change of steps this Thursday night. Senator Frist takes the Senate
away from the DoD appropriations bill. The cloture vote on the Estate Tax/Minimum Wage
bill will happen tonight. Further, the Pensions Bill is possibly up for a vote tonight
as well.

Senator Frist propounds a unanimous consent request that a cloture vote on the
trifecta bill (Family Prosperity Act) H.R.5970 occur after the following debate:

15 minutes Grassley
15 minutes Dem Manager (Durbin)
15 minutes Reid
15 minutes Frist

If cloture is not obtained on H.R.5970, the Senate would move to the pensions bill, H.R.4
with 20 minutes equally divided between the two leaders followed by a vote on that bill.

Senator Reid did not object, and the debate is on.

I predicted the cloture motion to take up H.R.5970 would pass and gave my rationale.
Meanwhile, we’re treated to some shrill argument.

UPDATE @ 21:40

The cloture vote is underway …

UPDATE @ 21:58

Landrieu voted Nay, which is not what I expected given her support for estate tax repeal
or rollback. It’s a close vote (42-30) so far, 4 DEM crossovers, and Voinovich voting
against cloture.

UPDATE @ 22:08

The CLOTURE vote on the motion to proceed to the consideration of

H.R.5970 - Minimum Wage and Estate Tax Act of 2006 was
REJECTED

on a 56 - 42 vote
GOP Nay votes: Chafee, Voinovich, FRIST
DEM Aye votes: Byrd, Lincoln, Nelson (FL), Nelson (NE)

Frist changed his vote to NO in order to make a motion to reconsider, and entered a motion
to reconsider. But still 41 against cloture.

And, contrary to his vote for cloture or estate tax and minimum wage reform are deadlink

He observes that teens are forming invaluable friendships via MySpace–friendships that nurture their creativity and provide them with emotional support that might be lacking in their immediate circles. Here is a quick overview of Rosen’s findings by topic:MySpace and Sexual Predators:* Only 7% of those teens interviewed were ever approached by anyone with a sexual intent and nearly all of them simply ignored the person and blocked him from their page.* Two-thirds of the parents were sure that there were many sexual predators on MySpace, while only one-third of the teenagers shared this concern.* When asked about media coverage, 66% of the parents felt that it was either understated or close to the truth.* Conversely, 58% of the teens felt it was vastly overblown.* Too much information: Nearly three-fourths of teens give out their school name, half give out their e-mail address and half give out information about activities they will be doing, including the location.MySpace Usage By Teens* Teenagers spend an average of 15 hours per week on MySpace.* One in three admits their MySpace activity has negatively affected their schoolwork, family life, or both.* However, while using MySpace teens find it easier to make friends, feel more honest and creative, and get emotional support from their “online friends.” including 37 close friends, more than half of whom they have never met.Parental Awareness of MySpace* Only one-third of the parents have seen their child’s MySpace page and only 16% check it on a regular basis.* However, 70% of the adolescents said they would feel comfortable with their parents looking at their MySpace page.* 40% of the parents had never seen the photographs that their children posted on MySpace.* Nearly half the parents claimed to have limits on their children’s MySpace use, but only 25% of teens said those limits were upheld.* 43% of parents are not sure about how many days per week their child is on MySpace and 36% are not sure about how many hours per day they spend there.* Half the parents admit that their child uses the Internet from their bedroom rather than a location where the parent can supervise.Rosen’s survey of more than 1500 MySpacers and parents was conducted in Los Angeles in May-June 2006 with subjects recruited by research students through contacts.

A Different Kind of SATThe SAT (Salvation Aptitude Test)I have stolen this gleefully from Noel J. Augustyn’s article on the New Oxford Review’s old website (http://www.newoxfordreview.org/1998-99/apr99/noelaugustyn.html ). If you go to this page, there is a funny but sad and illuminating commentary on the state of Catechism in the Church today. How many of these can you answer correctly?1. One of the prayers at Mass refers to this man as our father in faith. Both Jews and Arabs regard him as their ancestor. Jews, Christians, and Muslims all consider him to be their spiritual father. Name this patriarch.2. This patriarch and his wife, Sarah, had a son in their old age. God tested the father by asking him to sacrifice this son but stopped him from doing so at the last minute. Name the son.3. Years later, this son and his wife, Rebekah, had a son who was to be the father of what became the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Who ,was he? (Hint: Israel was the name later given to him by God. He had a brother named Esau.)4. We all know that Moses led the Hebrews (Israelites) out of Egypt in what is called the Exodus. How did the Hebrews come to live in Egypt hundreds of years earlier?5. When we think of Moses we think, too, of Aaron and Joshua. Identify either Aaron or Joshua.6. Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. List the Ten Commandments.7. Pick one of the Ten Commandments and tell why you believe it is especially important.8. Apart from the Ten Commandments, there are the Two Great Commandments. State them.9. What is the connection between the Two Great Commandments and the Ten Commandments?10. State the Golden Rule.11. Saul was the first king of Israel. Who was the second? (Hint: He is considered the most important of the Jewish kings, and as a boy he was a shepherd.)12. The second king of Israel had a son named Solomon. Write something you know about Solomon.13. After the first reading at Mass we recite or sing prayers and hymns, some of which are very old, so old they are said to have been written by Solomon’s father. What do we call these prayers and hymns?14. There are three books in the Old Testament named after women. Name one of them.15. Who is Job?16. In speaking of the Old Testament, we hear the phrase the Law and the Prophets. Name one of the Old Testament prophets.17. Write something brief about one of the following: the Babylonian Captivity or the Maccabees.18. The first four books of the New Testament are the Gospels; their authors are called the Evangelists. Name the four Evangelists.19. What is meant by the term the Annunciation?20. What is meant by the term the Visitation?21. We all know what we celebrate on the feast of the Nativity (which is also called Christmas), but what do we celebrate on the feast of the Epiphany (which is also called the 12th day of Christmas)?22. Three places of importance in the childhood of Jesus are Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Nazareth. Pick one and tell why it was important in the early life of Jesus.23. Who is John the Baptist?24. Lent has forty days, just as a particular episode in the life of Jesus had forty days, before He began His public ministry. What was this episode?25. We know that Jesus often taught in parables. Name your favorite parable and tell why it is your favorite.26. Fill in the blank: One of the most famous of Jesus’ teachings is called the Sermon on the _________.27. Jesus is often called the Divine Physician because He cured people of various illnesses. Write something about your favorite miracle or sign where Jesus cured a sick person or sick people.28. Jesus taught us to pray what we often call the Our Father. There is a more formal name for this prayer. What is it?29. What is the Transfiguration? [Given today's Feast, this should be easy!]30. There are two kings named Herod in the Gospels. Pick one of them and tell something about him.31. Bethany is the name of a village near Jerusalem. (There is another Bethany across the Jordan, where John the Baptist was baptizing.) Martha and Mary, who were friends of Jesus, lived in Bethany with their brother. Name their brother and tell why he is important.32. What is Palm Sunday all about?33. Why is the Passion, from the Gospels, read at Mass on Palm Sunday?34. Whenever we recite the Creed at Mass, or say the Apostles’ Creed, we mention Pontius Pilate. Who was he? 35. Name the person who was forced to help Jesus carry His cross. (Hint: He is remembered in one of the Stations of the Cross.)36. Pick one of these two terms and tell something about it: the Upper Room or the Garden of Gethsemane.37. Golgotha is the Hebrew name for the hill near Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified. This place is also known by another name. What is that name?38. According to the Gospels, Jesus spoke seven times in His three hours on the cross. Choose one of these seven sayings (also called the Seven Last Words) and quote it, or paraphrase it (that means, put it in your own words).39. Tell how one of these men is connected to the Crucifixion: Nicodemus; Joseph of Arimathea.40. Jesus’ first appearance after His Resurrection was to a woman. Name her.41. There is a phrase in common usage -even today that contains the name of one of the Apostles. Fill in the blank: Doubting . What did this Apostle doubt?42. Who is called the Prince of the Apostles?43. The last appearance of Jesus to His Apostles after His Resurrection is commemorated annually by a Holy Day of Obligation 40 days after Easter (or on the seventh Sunday of Easter). It is called the Solemnity of thelink

Iran: An Enigma Wrapped in a Riddle?Area: 1.468,000 square miles(17th largest country in world- one 5th size of USA)Population: 57millionEthnic Groups: Persian, 46%; In 1951 the British owned oil industry in Iran was nationalized by the nationalist Mossadegh via the Abadan crisis and the shah fled; Iran was the largest military power in the region but internally the shah’s position was weakening. The west mostly backed Saddam Hussein, the vicious Iraqi dictator, as the lesser evil compared with Islamic revolutionaries who had humiliated Washington and supplied him with arms, including ingredients for the chemical weapons which killed thousands of Iranian soldiers and civilians. Saddam was keen to exploit the weakness of the country after the revolution and make himself the dominant force in the region as well as possibly the controller of Iranian oil supplies.Official U.S. policy sought to isolate Iran, and the U.S. and its allies supplied Iraq with weapons and technology to maintain a balance in the war. Members of Reagan’s government covertly sold anti-tank missiles and spare parts to Iran in what became known as the Iran –Contra Affiar. Iran finally agreed to UN Security Council Resolution 598 in 1988 to end the bloody war. At times, large parts of the western parts of Iran were without government control.Supreme Leader of Iran- currently Ayatollah Ali KhomenieSLI responsible for the ‘general policies… of the Republic’. Iranian Domestic Politics: Reformists V ConservativesFollowing the Islamic Revolution politics in Iran have been, unsurprisingly, dominated by religion. Khatami believed Iran should have good relations with all countries, including USA and denied any secret links between the reformists and America. Hashemi, on the other hand was opposed to ‘establishing relations with the US because of the suffering of the Iranian people at the hands of the USA for the last five decades.’ This gulf between the reformers and the conservatives continues but the former took a bit hit in June 2005 when the ultra-conservative former mayor of Teheran Mahmood Ahmadinejad (MA) beat Rafsanjami’s bid to be president for a third term. Foreign Policy and the Nuclear IssueTraditionally Iran was pro-west and USA but the swing to the religious right changed all that. Iran has no relations with USA or Israel and is skeptical on the Middle East Peace Process. Royal Institute of International Affairs Report, August 2006The RIIA report blamed strategic errors by Bush for the current dominance of Iran in the region. The removal of two rival centres of power in Kabul and Baghdad has left the field open for Iran to become the main centre of power in the area. Iran and HezbollahHezbollah is a Shia Islamist militant organization in Lebanon which follows the teachings of the Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran. Regional PolicyPatrick Clawson of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy sums up Iranian regional foreign policy attitudes thusA strong sense of history pervades Iran. Iranian elementary school texts teach about the Iranian roots not only of cities like Baku, but also cities further north like Derbent in southern Russia. Only in 1970 did a UN sponsored consultation end Iranian claims to suzerainty over the Persian Gulf island nation of Bahrain. When the western world complains of Iranian interference beyond its borders, the Iranian government often convinced itself that it is merely exerting its influence in lands that were once its own. The Nuclear IssueIn 2003 the EU built on its better relations with Iran when France, Germany and the UK persuaded Iran to cooperate with the IAEA and not to proceed with enriched uranium. inspectors had been unable to confirm ‘the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme’.The Security Council pronounced Iran had to comply with its rulings but it was ignored. Blair and Bush have threatened ‘isolation’ if Iran does not comply but maybe it is these two beleaguered leaders who are already isolated from the rest of the world.Anatole Kaletsky in Times 16/11/06This Times columnist saw a parallel in the current situation with Nixon’s breakthrough with China in 1970. It would need the end of the ‘axis of evil’ approach, the end of ‘regime change’, lifting economic sanctions and a ‘formal guarantee of non-aggression.’ It would also be necessary to make concessions on nuclear side, maybe even accepting Iran as part of the nuclear club. He points to the offer made by the Security Council ‘six’ to Iran but sees Iran gaining prestige in the region from resisting the west. US has not taken part in the talks but Rice has offered to as long as Iran suspends uranium enrichment. Iran has found this defiant attitude popular at home and reinforces of ‘shaky domestic support.’ HK thinks military action ‘extremely improbable during the final two years of a presidency facing a hostile Congress. But Tehran cannot ignore the possibility of a unilateral Israeli strike.’ However, in the meantime, Iran sees itself as leading the Shi-ite belt of power in the Middle East; HK suggests Iran might be satisfied with a respected regional place of power and welcome concessions in the Palestinian dispute. All three countries have had delicate relations in the past: Iran at war with Iraq;

The 2003 report laments that the “the polarisation of Venezuelan society” which lead to the coup took such a “heavy toll in attacks against the press”.[i] It describes in detail the numerous attacks on members of the press, both pro-and anti-government, noting that one journalist was killed and over 50 more were physically attacked during the unrest of 2002.[ii] They also heavily criticise Chavez for infringing upon “press freedom’ by forcing the private media to broadcast his speeches, and by ordering private broadcasts shut down on April 11, 2002.[iii] While admitting that the national private media engaged in a serious breach of “professional ethics” by seeming to actively participate in the coup, only Chavez’ government is described as infringing on democratic rights by attempting to regulate or shut down the broadcasts of an openly hostile private media.[iv] The report is useful not only because of its detailed account of media involvement n the events of 2002, but it also serves as an excellent example of the failings of mainstream rights discourse. The bulk of Venezuela’s private media, the bulk of whose ownership was extremely concentrated and dominated by a small commercial elite[xxi], had long adopted a policy of unvarying criticism of President Chavez [xxii] (with the noticeable exception of the local press and radio).[xxiii] O Briain and Bartley’s film illustrated how the private television stations berated Chavez’ policies on a daily basis, going so far as to describe him as being mentally ill, a Hitler-inspired fascist, and a subordinate of Cuba’s Fidel Castro, helping to cultivate an atmosphere of anti-Chavez hysteria.[xxiv] Against an overwhelmingly hostile media, Chavez’ only effective tool for public communication was Channel 8, the state owned network with a rather limited share of the national audience.[xxv] In response to these media attacks, Chavez would force the private stations to broadcast his speeches, or “chains”, over their networks,[xxvi] prompting even harsher criticism from the private stations.[xxvii] After Chavez announced his plans for the PSVDA shake up the media stepped up the information war, broadcasting frequent advertisements for the April 10th protest, urging Venezuelans to demonstrate and for Chavez to resign the Presidency.[xxviii] The media’s involvement in the coup went far beyond a simple smear campaign. The day before the march was to take place, several owners of the major news outlets took part in a closed door meeting with Pedro Carmona, head of Fedecameras and one of the coup’s top organizers (Carmonas would assume the presidency during Chavez’ temporary ouster).[xxix] On the same day, the major networks broadcasted a televised message of an official from the military high command, urging President Chavez to step down and hinting at the possibility of a coup if he refused.[xxx] It was later revealed on television that this message was filmed in the house of a journalist from Venevision (one of the country’s largest networks) and was broadcasted as a ploy designed to force Chavez (who had planned a trip out of the country) to remain in the country for the 11th, so that the coup could take place as planned.[xxxi] On April 11th, the anti-government rally marched past their stated destination towards a counter-protest staged by Chavez supporters outside the Presidential Palace, a move that Beasley-Murray argues was almost certainly designed to provoke a conflict,[xxxii] thereby creating an opportunity the coup leaders could use to move against Chavez. In an attempt to block what was slowly being understood as the initial stages in an organized coup, Chavez ordered the private television stations to go off the air, arguing that they were irresponsibly broadcasting inaccurate and misleading information in an attempt to bring down the government.[xxxiii] Upon reaching the Palace, unknown snipers opened fire on protesters from their positions on the rooftops of nearby buildings, killing at least 13 civilians, many of them Chavez supporters.[xxxiv] At this point, as O Briain and Bartley note, “some of the Chavez supporters began to shoot back in the direction [of] the sniper fire”.[xxxv] Luis Alfonso Fernández of Venevisión captured footage of the Chavez supporters on an overpass, defending themselves from sniper fire.[xxxvi] While the unedited footage made it undeniably clear that the Chavistas were defending themselves from the rooftop snipers, and that the anti-Chavez marchers had been nowhere near the overpass, the footage was manipulated to make it appear that “the Chavistas were assassinating innocent marchers”, editing out the numerous and clear indications that the Chavistas were under heavy fire.[xxxvii] The private media began broadcasting, en masse, the falsified footage “over and over and over again” while calling on the army to overthrow President Chavez for his orchestration of the “massacre”.[xxxviii] In stunning example of political choreography, the military high command promptly withdrew support for Chavez, citing the falsified footage as justification.[xxxix] Shortly after this, a unit of the anti-Chavez Caracas police raided and shut down government owned Channel 8, the only Chavez-friendly television station.[xl] The military high command then took Chavez into custody at 1:30am, though he refused to resign.[xli] Pedro Carmona immediately assumed the presidency , forming a “transitional government” composed of ultra-conservatives and members of the business community[xlii], and the government proceeded to dissolve the national assembly and the supreme court, while dismissing the attorney general, head of the central bank, the ombudsman and the national electoral board.[xliii] The next day, in an obvious attempt at sabotaging any public resistance to the coup, the same media outlets that had given “wall-to-wall” coverage of anti-Chavez protesters initiated what one of the local, pro-Chavez newspapers described as “a diabolical blackout that left most of Venezuela misinformed about what was happening to the country”.[xliv]The large media outlets pointedly ignored stories about firefights in the city center and military uprisings all over the country.[xlv] Though international networks were broadcasting easily accessible footage of police shooting into crowds of pro-Chavez protesters,[xlvi] and though the President’s supporters had begun protesting in the streets, the private TV stations responded by broadcasting “soap opera and cartoons”.[xlvii] By April 14th, word of mouth had slowly spread the news that Chavez had not resigned but was in fact being held captive by the army, and in response tens of thousands of his supporters gathered in front of the Presidential Palace demanding his release.[xlviii] Yet no news at all was broadcast on April 14 by the private media channels, and most newspapers simply did not publish.[xlix] Andres Izarra of RCTV noted that the media blackout was official policy, and that journalists “were told [by station management that] no pro-Chávez material was to be screened … even if we had it available, and even if we had information on unrest and protests in support of the president” (Izarra resigned in protest).[l] However, Chavez’ supporters were able to organize a counter attack.

This is also the place where it states that any irreconcilable difference in the interpretation of 36.09(5) may be taken to the Board of Regents through the UW-System President. The reference to Provost Cheng being in charge of this is based on Wisconsin Statute 36.09(3)(b):The chancellor may designate a person as provost, to act as chief executive officer of the institution in the chancellor’s absence, if the person currently holds a limited appointment as vice chancellor, associate chancellor, assistant chancellor, associate vice chancellor or assistant vice chancellor. The chancellor may not create an additional administrative position for the purpose of this paragraph. As the Chancellor is recovering from surgery at the moment, this qualifies as an absence during which the Provost acts as chief executive officer. This news is troubling at this time because the University is currently reviewing candidates for Assistant Chancellor for Student Affairs.

41/2/5 stars Collateral jamie Foxx, Tom Cruise, Jada Pinkett Smith amazing it took Micheal Mann 3 years to put this movie out. the characters are incredibly deep(characters who make 5 minute appereances have more character than Viggo Mortenson did in the entire movie of Hidalgo.) action moments are intense and scary, and the acting is spot on especially for Tom Criuse.

Array The BCLA does a good job in cultivating the next generation of librarians and information specialists by offering volunteer work for paid conference hours: students at SLAIS and Langara’s Library Tech program not only get valuable experience in behind-the-scenes organizing, but also gets much needed conference time that they otherwise likely wouldn’t be able to afford.Highlight of the day? Rex Turgano, one of the consultants at Andornot, showed me some of the high-end (yet incredibly simple and straightforward) technologies that he uses for not only Andornot projects, but also his own personal hobbies.

Saturday, June 29: Welcome To BelfastMusic: Life During Wartime by the Talking HeadsWith a three-day weekend break from law-school-in-the-summer, we decide to rent a car and go to Belfast. I agree to drive, but only if someone else will navigate. I don’t particularly feel like learning how to drive on the left side of the road today, but if there is chaos, I want to be in control of the situation. Or at least have a front row seat view of my impending demise. The drive up north is beautiful. Driving on the left is not as difficult as I imagined, although every once in a while I get a little too comfortable and drift towards the right side until Doris screams “Left!!!!” We stop in a small picturesque town, and have lunch in a bar that serves weird Mexican food in addition to the local specialties.Farther north, we pass a British military fort surrounded by concertina wire and a camera that follows our car around as we drive past it. Eventually, we get to the outskirts of Belfast. It doesn’t seem so bad. A large military helicopter hovers in the distance, but other than that, there are no signs of trouble. It doesn’t take long to discover that our map sucks – it’s missing roads. We randomly pick a freeway exit in the hopes that it’ll put us near downtown Belfast.Unfortunately, the random exit ramp puts us directly in the middle of a angry mob that is hell bent on provoking a confrontation with the local police, who are lined up in riot gear between armored cars about fifty yards away. Suddenly, the angry police start advancing towards the mob … and us.For a few seconds, we’re mesmerized by the scene unfolding in front of us. Our trance is suddenly broken and Rachael yells, Let

Central heating, satanic pact?I like to think, or at least I think I do, that Hell is both, that sometimes its hotter than hell and occasionally hell freezes over.Either way one thing I am sure of, that if I am to be in hell, though it may be my fault, but its out of my control.Unit 29

I could go on and on, but I am a paranoid, jealous lover, and I do not want any competition. We* are going to put in a lowball offer on account of the fact that it needs roughly 00k worth of renovations, and that’s if nothing really major is wrong. We’ll make the offer contingent upon a two week investigation of the property, which will involve an in-depth home inspection and consultation with a contractor.I don’t know if they’ll take a low-ball offer. But I do know that while we were driving home after the showing, I drifted deeply into thought.

Chapter 2: Love,Verse 7: Mixed Messages I will be very interested to see how this political season turns out. I think I could tell you already what is going to happen, but we will wait and see. The media is already going crazy as the two leading Democratics are a woman and multi-racial man. I haven’t seen an in-depth interview with Hillary Clinton yet, but this weekend I did see one with Barack Obama and if you missed it…you won’t believe this:Long time CBS news program 60 minutes asked Obama….and I quote: When did you decide to be black? WOW!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!?!?!? I’m still in shock! A professional reporter asking a question like that!??!?! If I was in that position I would have went off, however to Obama’s credit he just simply stated, I dont believe I was the one who made that decision. People like the taxi drivers who pass me up everyday decide that.” When he is asked to describe his ethincity (which all people should be allow to state for themselves, in my opinion) he always states he is multi-racial, his father is Kenyan and his mother is a white woman from Kansas. 60 minutes goes on to say, “Besides everything else you have going against you…your middle name is Hussien and your last name rhymes with most wanted terrorist in the world.”A-B-C-DeeeeeeeGUSTING!!!!!!!! Let me stop before I get on a roll, but please leave me your comments on this because I would love to hear what you think about it. However, while Im on the multi-racial tip…please check out my lovely wifes website: www.SpiritTrickey.com. She is currently working on a multi-racial documentary, so please check it out and feel free to get involved. As always, thanks for reading my blog and make sure to come back soon. Until next time….Take it to the House, Tre Day, Everyday, All Day, Baby, Baby!!!

Lesson 2: Never decide to allow your team to fail. Lesson 3: When presenting, know your material cold - don’t use notes. Lesson 4: Dry-run important presentations to make sure your technology works as you expect. Lesson 5: Keep your jokes in business to what you know works with your audience. Jenn is a gracious person, going as far as trying to save another team member by suggesting that Derek’s firing should be sufficient. Lesson 7: Show grace and class in the worst situations. I’ve seen it before where a leader is so eager to drive the team forward that they loose the respect of the team. Lesson 8: Skip the romantic relationships with coworkers. Lesson 9: Don’t appear overly eager for progress, your team will mock your naiveté.

-ne When searching for a virtual tour solution for your real estate needs, there are many factors to consider. But, that’s the subject of an entirely different blog, so for now here are a few questions that you should ask every virtual tour provider before scheduling that virtual tour…1. Interactive tours combine the power of a virtual tour with the ‘point-and-click’ What kind of camera lens do they use?If they use a One Shot Lens or a fish-eye lens will the virtual tour software remove distortions in the tour (i.e. When shopping around for virtual tours, be sure to opt for companies that use a wide-angle lens. If you are looking to list a high-end seller, be sure that you can offer additional high-end services. As a quick final note to virtual tour companies out there that are squirming to the tune of question number 5.
